Intertek is the only certification body authorized to issue a certificate of conformity required for the export of goods to Kurdistan.

From now on, traders exporting to Kurdistan must follow Kurdistan's local requirements for the Conformity Assessment Procedure (CBCA) to provide a certificate of conformity issued by Intertek at the time of customs clearance.

Failure to provide a certificate of conformity as required may result in the detention of goods, fines, and even the consequences of being returned.

This Conformity Assessment Procedure (CBCA) verifies that a product meets Kurdish-approved international or national standards by reviewing shipments to Kurdistan, and only those goods that meet these criteria are eligible for a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for customs clearance. The implementation of this measure will ensure that local consumers purchase safe and reliable products and help protect the local environment.

Only Intertek has the official authorization of Kurdistan to implement this assessment process and issue a certificate of conformity.

On May 17, 2017, Intertek signed a contract with New Standard Company (NSC) as the only service provider to execute Kurdistan's CBCA program for regulated products. The purpose of the CBCA program is primarily to ensure that regulated products meet Kurdish standards or other equivalent international standards.

The CBCA program will be implemented from July 1, 2017. All goods destined for Kurdistan will need to hold a COC certificate issued by Intertek for customs clearance.

When pipe products arrive at the Kurdistan customs or border, if there is no COC, they must undergo 100% sampling and high rate testing. This situation can cause the goods to stay in port and generate late fees. This situation can also lead to the product not entering the Kurdistan market smoothly.

The following is a list of Kurdish regulated products:
